WHICH ONE SIN IS UNFORGIVABLE?

Newsletter 128

Yes, God is a God of love, but there is one sin that he can not ignore, and it can not be forgiven. He did not make all the preparations he did, and send his own Son to die for our sins, to have us credit the work of his Holy Spirit to Satan. Our text today identifies that sin. That sin is exactly what these scribes, mostly Pharisees from Jerusalem, had done. They said that Jesus was acting under Satan, Beelzebub and using his power to cast out demons.

Jesus had received the power of the Holy Spirit when he descended and settled upon him at the time of his baptism in the form of a dove. It was through this power that he cast out demons.

Mark 3:22-30 (King James Version)

22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.

23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?

24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.

27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

EVEN COMMON SENSE TELLS US:

Satan is not going to divide his forces to defeat his own purposes. He wills that with the demons, fallen angels, he will be able to fight against Jesus and his angels, and succeed. As a fallen angel, with his forces, he plots through deception, and any other means at his disposal, to oppose Jesus. God reveals in the book of Revelation what will happen to them in the end, but for the time being, Satan is engaged in battle against good., Against every good thing God has given for mankind, Satan has pitted an evil counterfeit.

He has established counterfeit churches by the thousands, a counterfeit baptism that even ignores the meaning of the word in Biblical Greek, demons to inhabit mankind in order to crowd out the Holy Spirit, false religions, books to replace the Bible, music that has the rhythm of paganism, rituals in place of a change of the heart, even money will be replaced by Satan’s mark in the forehead or hand. People are afraid to read Revelation, but that is where the end, of these things, is revealed. Do not be deceived. Read Revelation 14:9-11.

An architect watched a mechanic remove engine parts from his car to get to the valves. A surgeon, waiting for his car to be repaired, walked over to observe the process. After they introduced themselves, they began talking, and the talk turned to their lines of work.

"You know, doctor," said the architect, "I sometimes believe this type of work is as complicated as the work we do."

"Perhaps," the surgeon replied. "But let's see him do it while the engine is running."

WHERE IS YOUR ROAD LEADING?

Newsletter 127 February 15, 2009

The time is coming when all will realize that all roads do NOT lead to the same place. For many years it has been the conviction of divisive individuals that it does not make any difference what you believe as long as you believe in God. Then, more recently, that has come to be so long as you believe in a god. Now, that definition has been dropped to place the Bible, the quran, and the books of all other religions on the same level. We are rapidly seeing the world, Including our own nation, becoming united unbelievers.

We have taken the wide road that leads to destruction. As with Noah who preached for a hundred years with no conversions, we can expect to see God intervening when we return to that same condition, for no man can come to God except through Christ Jesus.

Matthew 25:31-46 (King James Version)

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Realize that there is a fork in the road, and our Lord is standing there at that form to direct his own, and the rest shall go with their master to the place that was prepared for “the devil and his angels.” Our Lord cautioned, “No man cometh unto the Father but by me.” There is a fork ahead, be ready or it.

War of the Signs

A singing group called "The Resurrection" was scheduled to sing at a church. When a big snowstorm postponed the performance, the pastor fixed the outside sign to read, "The Resurrection is postponed."

An ad for St. Joseph's Episcopal Church has a picture of two hands holding stone tablets on which the Ten Commandments are inscribed and a headline that reads, "For fast, fast, fast relief, take two tablets."

When the restaurant next to the Lutheran Church put out a big sign with red letters that said, "Open Sundays," the church reciprocated with its own message: "We are open on Sundays, too."
