DO THIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME
Paul wrote to Timothy, his son in the faith who would carry on his life work after his own death these words:
(2 Timothy 2:15) “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
These words apply equally to anyone, even today, who would share his faith with others. Three rules will assure us that we are “rightly dividing the word of truth.” They are 1. Know who is speaking. 2. To whom he is speaking. And 3. In what context is he speaking? In our text here, this is very important.
1. Christ is speaking. He was soon to be given all authority both in Heaven and in earth. (Matthew 28:18) 2. He is speaking to the twelve instructing them that they must also teach believers to continue to keep this memorial until he returns for them to take them to Heaven, their eternal home. And 3. The context. This was observed at the annual Passover feast, using the special food used for that feast. That was a very organized, precise event with great meaning to the Jews who had been delivered from slavery in Egypt Everything had a meaning, from the lamb, its blood placed on the door lintels, unleavened bread, the fresh wine, and the absence of any yeast whatever in the entire house, not only the food. The lamb, and the blood represented the Christ to come and give himself as a sacrifice for their sins. The wine, his blood through which the lost could be saved, and the bread his body, free of any contamination. Yeast in either the wine or the bread represents sin, totally absent in the Lord Jesus Christ.

AT THE CLOSE OF THE PASSOVER FEAST, JESUS MAKES THE APPLICATION
23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: (1 Corinthians 15:3, Galatians 1:12, Colossians 3:24, Matthew 26:26-28, Mark 14:22-24, Luke 22:17-29, 1 Corinthians 10:16)
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
HIS BODY WAS BROKEN ON CALVARY OR ALL MANKIND OF THE WORLD

25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. (1 Corinthians 10:16, Exodus 24:6-8, Luke 22:20, 2 Corinthians 3:6)
LIFE IS IN THE BLOOD. HE SHED HIS FOR OUR SINS.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. (John 21:22, 1 Corinthians 4:5)
This memorial is to be observed “steadfastly” until he returns for his own. (Acts 2:42) “And they continued steadfastly in the Apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”
LET ALL HIS PEOPLE REMEMBER THIS.
27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. (Hebrews 10:29)
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.(Matthew 26:22, 2 Corinthians 13:5, Galatians 6:4)
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
It is not enough to just be present in body. This a memorial not to be neglected, and not to be treated as a casual ritual, as it had become to the Corinthian Christians. Clearly. Then, as today, those who partake in a disrespectful manner or not at all, are doing so to their own destruction. .
Acts 20:7 “And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow, and continued his speech until midnight.”
It is for this purpose that Christians assemble on the first day of every week, not to hear a sermon, not for a rousing song service, and not even for prayer. These things are important, but note that Paul knew that they would assemble on the first day of the week to observe this memorial. It is my conviction that this is why John was alone on the prison island of Patmos on the Lord’s day. (Revelation 1:10) I recall J. Russell Morse relating that he saved scraps of bread and a little, water, all that he had, that he might observe this memorial in his prison cell in Communist China during World War II. Can we, with all that we have, do less? My own father and mother in law, in mid-winter, fled that same war over the mountains of Tibet to seek refuge in India. To me, these are great men and women of the faith.

All You Need Is Love...
An old man and woman were married for many years, even though they hated each other. When they had a confrontation, screaming and yelling could be heard deep into the night.
The old man would shout, "When I die, I will dig my way up and out of the grave and come back and haunt you for the rest of your life!"
Neighbors feared him. They believed he practiced black magic, because of the many strange occurrences that took place in their neighborhood. The old man liked the fact that he was feared.
To everyone's relief, he died of a heart attack when he was 68. His wife had a closed casket at the wake.
After the burial, she went straight to the local bar and began to party, as if there was no tomorrow. Her neighbors, concerned for her safety, asked, "Aren't you afraid that he may indeed be able to dig his way up and out of the grave and come back to haunt you for the rest of your life?"
The wife put down her drink and said, "Let him dig. I had his casket buried upside down..."

THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS MANY GIFTS TO BESTOW.
The church has been described as being like many things, a net, a body, a kingdom being a few. Paul uses the human body for this analogy. (Colossians 1:15) This is the one we will look at today. We all possess a body, and we all know some basic things about our bodies. We know that we want our bodies to be whole, and all the parts to work together as one. We are more than a heart, a liver, a kidney, or lungs, but we could not live without any of those, as un-attractive as they might be individually.
12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. (Romans 12:4, 1 Corinthians 10:17, 1 Corinthians 12:27)
I recently saved a video clip which told of a young man who was born without either arms or legs. I once knew of another, who was born without arms. He worked as a bookkeeper for the local municipality where I lived. He wrote with his feet The young man of the video was shown as he was speaking to a school class. God has a purpose for each of us, even grossly handicapped persons.
From all backgrounds, we are all reborn into the body of Christ, one reference says “we have put on Christ” when we were baptized into his body, the church. If we are his body, then we are sinless. The faithful new born Christian is just that. His sins have been removed. (Acts 2:38, Acts 2:47) Scripture calls Christians, “Saints”.
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (Ephesians 2:18, Romans 3:22, Galatians 3:28, Ephesians 2:13-18, Colossians 3:11, John 7:37-39)
THE BODY IS ONE, MADE UP OF MANY DEDICATED PARTS.
14 For the body is not one member, but many. (1 Corinthians 12:20)
15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
EACH PART FILLS A NEED IN THE WHOLE.
The young man born without limbs is severely handicapped, though not mentally. God does not expect him to be an athlete, but he can be a glowing example and challenge to a generation struggling with feelings to inadequacy. As a Christian, he can challenge us all. I once heard a man teaching who had to use an artificial larynx, and knew a tiny man with a powerful singing voice though he had to stand on a chair to reach the microphone.
18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. (1 Corinthians 12:28, Romans 12:6, 1 Corinthians 13:11)
19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?
20 But now are they many members, yet but one body. (1 Corinthians 12:12, 1 Corinthians 12:14)
21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
EVERY PART IS NEEDED FOR LIFE TO CONTINUE EFFECTIVELY
God formed us from conception to birth, with a plan in mind for our life. We have been custom made to fit that need. As with all that God has made, he sees that it is good! If it does not continue so, that is not His fault. It is ours.
22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.
24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked.
25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.
26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
THE CHURCH, THE BODY OF CHRIST HAS THE SAME LIFE NEEDS
27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. (1 Corinthians 1:2, 1 Corinthians 12:12, Ephesians 1:23, Ephesians 4:12, Colossians 1:18, Colossians 1:24, Colossians 2:19, Romans 12:5, Ephesians 5:30)
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. WHO WILL STAND AS JUDGE?

1 Corinthians 6:1-11 (King James Version)
OVER A BROTHER OR SISTER?
1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? (Matthew 18:17)
Paul shames the church at Corinth that they have turned to Roman non-believing judges to settle their disagreements in the church. The whole context of these paragraphs is that we might have guidance as to handle such things even today. One might say, “These are family matters and should be settled by those of which Christ is the head, with his word as our authority, chapter and verse, please. Gently, and with love. Not tradition, the word of God. We can not expect a non-believing judge who does not accept that Christ is the head of the church and the word is divinely inspired, to solve any spiritual problem.
OVER THE WORLDLY?
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? (Romans 6:16, Daniel 7:18, Daniel 7:22, Daniel 7:27, Matthew 19:28, 1 Corinthians 1:20)
Apparently, Christians will assist in judging the worldly, Revelation 2:26-27, Revelation 3:21, Daniel 7:27, it would seem that even a supreme court judge will not be qualified to do this if he is not also a follower of the Lord and student of His Word.
OVER ANGELS?
3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? (Romans 6:16)
The Greek word used here is sometimes translated as “to rule over or govern“. We tend to think of angels as being superior to man because their home is heaven, and because of their powers, but in reality, they are created to be servants and serve the saints of heaven as they now serve the Lord. Hebrews 1:14, 2 Peter 2:4, and Jude 6.
SO SETTLE YOUR DIFFERENCES AMONG YOURSELVES.
The basic thought here is that even the least esteemed Christian in the church is better to be consulted than the most legally qualified non-believer from the world.
Non-believers have no concept of the Word and the basic qualification, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Such love in foreign to the world
4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
IT IS SHAMEFUL WHEN CHRISTIANS FIGHT AMONG THEMSELVES!
5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? (1 Corinthians 4:14, 1 Corinthians 15:34, Acts 1:15, Acts 9:13, 1 Corinthians 6:1)
6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. (2 Corinthians 6:14, 1 Timothy 5:8)
7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? (Matthew 5:39)
RATHER TO BE WRONGED THAN TO WIN THE LAST WORD AND LOSE A BROTHER
8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. (1 Thessalonians 4:6)
GOD WILL BE THE JUDGE OF ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Memo from CEO to Manager:
Today at 11 o clock there will be a total eclipse of the sun. This is when the sun disappears behind the moon for two minutes. As this is something that cannot be seen every day, time will be allowed for employees to view the eclipse in the parking lot. Staff should meet in the lot at ten to eleven, when I will deliver a short speech introducing the eclipse, and giving some background information. Safety goggles will be made available at a small cost.
Memo from Manager to Department Head:
Today at ten to eleven, all staff should meet in the car park. This will be followed by a total eclipse of the sun, which will appear for two minutes. For a moderate cost, this will be made safe with goggles. The CEO will deliver a short speech beforehand to give us all some information. This is not something that can be seen every day.
Memo from Department Head to Floor Manager:
The CEO will today deliver a short speech to make the sun disappear for two minutes in the form of an eclipse. This is something that cannot be seen every day, so staff will meet in the car park at ten or eleven. This will be safe, if you pay a moderate cost.

Ten or eleven staff are to go to the car park, where the CEO will make the sun disappear for two minutes. This doesn’t happen every day. It will be safe and as usual, it will cost you.

OVER A BROTHER OR SISTER?
1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? (Matthew 18:17)
Paul shames the church at Corinth that they have turned to Roman non-believing judges to settle their disagreements in the church. The whole context of these paragraphs is that we might have guidance as to handle such things even today. One might say, “These are family matters and should be settled by those of which Christ is the head, with his word as our authority, chapter and verse, please. Gently, and with love. Not tradition, the word of God. We can not expect a non-believing judge who does not accept that Christ is the head of the church and the word is divinely inspired, to solve any spiritual problem.
OVER THE WORLDLY?
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? (Romans 6:16, Daniel 7:18, Daniel 7:22, Daniel 7:27, Matthew 19:28, 1 Corinthians 1:20)
Apparently, Christians will assist in judging the worldly, Revelation 2:26-27, Revelation 3:21, Daniel 7:27, it would seem that even a supreme court judge will not be qualified to do this if he is not also a follower of the Lord and student of His Word.
OVER ANGELS?
3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? (Romans 6:16)
The Greek word used here is sometimes translated as “to rule over or govern“. We tend to think of angels as being superior to man because their home is heaven, and because of their powers, but in reality, they are created to be servants and serve the saints of heaven as they now serve the Lord. Hebrews 1:14, 2 Peter 2:4, and Jude 6.
SO SETTLE YOUR DIFFERENCES AMONG YOURSELVES.
The basic thought here is that even the least esteemed Christian in the church is better to be consulted than the most legally qualified non-believer from the world.
Non-believers have no concept of the Word and the basic qualification, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Such love in foreign to the world
4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
IT IS SHAMEFUL WHEN CHRISTIANS FIGHT AMONG THEMSELVES!
5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? (1 Corinthians 4:14, 1 Corinthians 15:34, Acts 1:15, Acts 9:13, 1 Corinthians 6:1)

IS HAVING GREAT WISDOM GOOD?

There was a time, not so many years ago, and in much of the world even today, a very basic education was all that was considered needed. In fact, many of our own parents did not have a college education. But, today, even a graduate degree does not impress. The recognized spokesmen in any field of training, have not one but multiple Doctorate Degrees. Their assumptions, and widely accepted theories are, without challenge, accepted in their field, and often even in areas that their own education did not touch upon. Thus, an evolutionary scientist comes to his conclusions without even considering the Bible. The Bible may not be a book of science, but where it speaks, it has been proven to be accurate.
Thus, I was interested in a video I came across on the web. It seems that a young boy had discovered a human bone embedded in a stone and it was shown to a professor at one of the Universities in Johannesburg, South Africa. He, in turn, investigated and found not just the one, but several bones of a family there, and promptly set a date that would place this family well before any other ever found. That university is a liberal of the liberals in setting such dates, and its professors are non believers. The interesting thing is that even he did not try to fit this into the theory of evolution. It was thought to be far too old, and this was human.
I immediately thought of the very first four words of the Bible. “In the beginning God.” And, what did God do? He “created the heavens and the earth.” One does not need hundreds of thousands of years. If almighty God created it, He could just as easily have created it as being what we, think must be ancient. Our Bible also points out that, “The fool has said in his heart, there is no God.” When one who denies the existence of God speaks on matters out of his field, ignore him. His word is our authority, even in matters of “science.”

Where Your Heart Is
Johnny was at his first day of school. The teacher advised the class to start the day with the pledge of allegiance, and instructed them to put their right hands over their hearts and repeat after him.
He looked around the room as he started the recitation, "I pledge allegiance to the flag..."
When his eyes fell on Johnny, he noticed Johnny's hand over the right cheek of his buttocks.
"Johnny, I will not continue 'til you put your hand over your heart."
Johnny replied, "It is over my heart."
After several attempts to get Johnny to put his hand over his heart, the teacher asked, "Why do you think that is your heart?"
"Because every time my Grandma comes to visit, she picks me up, pats me here, and says, 'Bless your little heart,' and my Grandma wouldn't lie."

Where Your Heart Is
Johnny was at his first day of school. The teacher advised the class to start the day with the pledge of allegiance, and instructed them to put their right hands over their hearts and repeat after him.
He looked around the room as he started the recitation, "I pledge allegiance to the flag..."
When his eyes fell on Johnny, he noticed Johnny's hand over the right cheek of his buttocks.
"Johnny, I will not continue 'til you put your hand over your heart."
Johnny replied, "It is over my heart."
After several attempts to get Johnny to put his hand over his heart, the teacher asked, "Why do you think that is your heart?"
"Because every time my Grandma comes to visit, she picks me up, pats me here, and says, 'Bless your little heart,' and my Grandma wouldn't lie."

Whether Christian or not, we all have a relationship with those about us, but the Christian as a part of the body of Christ, represents in the eye of those who know him, Christianity as a whole.
Today’s Scripture touches how we should respond under a variety of conditions.
Romans 13:1-10 (King James Version)
WITH THOSE WHO RULE OVER YOU
In Apartheid South Africa, we found that people responded to us in a variety of ways. We were working largely with the tribal people, actually the majority, but nevertheless a minority in that they were divided tribally into nine different languages and cultures. There were also many people from India, China, Portugal, Holland, Germany, and in the Cape Province, France.
The Germans and the Dutch, usually turned their backs and walked away. They had their own friends and did not need us, even in a shop.
1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. (Acts 2:41, Titus 3:1, 1 Peter 2:13, Daniel 2”21, Daniel 4:12, John 19:11)
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
In general, governing authorities were helpful, sometimes even offering a place to stay as an alternative to a hotel. Generally, we used municipally run camping sites, often also having cottages of some sort.
My self imposed rule of thumb was, “always remember that we are guests here and leave politics to citizens. Keep every law, even though at first it was required that if we left the city where we lived, we must check in and out through the local magistrate’s office. Get a permit to go into any African township, even if it requires going into the township to the superintendent’s office to get it. That is something like getting a permit to park on the university campus for Computer classes I have been assisting here in Richardson. Even though we had a green card and permanent resident permit, we needed to show our passport to book into a hotel.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: (1 Peter 2:14)
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. (1 Thessalonians 3:6)
5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. Ecclesiastes 8, 1 Peter 2:13, 1 Peter 2:19)
WITH THOSE TO WHOM YOU OWE TAXES
6 For this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. (Matthew 22:21, Mark 12:17, Luke 20:25, Luke 20:22, Luke 23:2, Matthew 17:25)
Jesus paid his taxes, even though he created all that was there. If we live in a place, we have that obligation as a Christian as well.
TO WHOM YOU ARE A DEBTOR
8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. (Matthew 7:12, Matthew 22:39, John 13:34, Romans 13:10, Galatians 5:14, James 2:8)
In today’s culture, few people even consider this. For shopping convenience, I have a card, but I make certain that at the start of the month it is paid in full and thus no interest.
WITH YOUR NEIGHBOR
9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy Neighbor as thyself. (Luke 20:13, Deuteronomy 5:17, Luke 10:18, Matthew 19:19)
10 Love worketh no ill to his Neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. (Matthew 7:12, Matthew 22:39, John 13:34, Romans 13:8, Galatians 5:14, James 2:8)
I recall that as a child, we had two neighbors. On one side there lived a couple who attended worship every week, but our contact was between Sundays. We knew them as a difficult neighbor to love. We lived a quarter mile away from them, but My memory is that we raised white Rock chickens, and they raised a black variety. When she fed hers in the afternoon, she called them so loudly that ours heard and responded to the call and consequently roosted there and accepted their new home. On the other side, about the same distance away, was another family. They also worshipped every Lord’s Day, but in between loved and served the Lord. They had in their large extended family living at home, both a grandmother, and a handicapped daughter. Life could not have been easy. When their home burned to the ground, our doors were open for them until they could find a house in town.
The one was more rewarding to live near, but Jesus called upon us to love equally, Actually to love them “as yourself.” In another place we read the “golden rule.” That we are to treat others as we would be treated.

SEARCHING THE SCRIPTURES WITH BOB

Romans 8:31-39 King James Version)
SINCE GOD IS FOR US:
This portion could be better translated “Since God is for us.” John 3:16-17 tells is in clear words what the sacrifices and the prophets of the Old Testament era told us, that God loves his creation so very much that he was willing to send his only begotten Son to die that we might be restored to him and be able to spent eternity with him in his home, Heaven. He sent his Son Jesus to live in our sinful world, so that we could be prepared to live in his sin-free world, heaven.
I am reminded of the fact that after my father left home permanently when I was a young boy and as a result, I grew up for practical purposes as the only son at home of a single parent during the great depression years. I had one real friend. He was the son of the local Undertaker who was also owner the only furniture store in the community. We spent many hours in my friend‘s home, invited for the night, invited to go with him to the motorcycle races, since his father had the only hearse/ambulance available. I was invited to see the fireworks of a nearby city, and often for the day and once at least, the night, at their cottage on a small lake they owned. I was even invited to go with them for a two week vacation trip. In many ways they treated me like part of the family. God goes a step further. He invites is to be adopted children. What a privilege we are offered, eternity in the home of the creator of all things, made for his own pleasure and that of his family; nothing but the best!
Since God is for us,… who can be against us?
WHO CAN BE AGAINST US?
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 3:5, Romans 4:1, Psalm 118:6, Matthew 1:23)
He paid such a costly price for us, certainly he will provide for our every real need.
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? (John 3:16, Romans 5:8, Romans 4L25)
Note the links, God created, God’s elect, God justifies, Christ defends and intercedes, Satan hasn’t a chance! His destiny was determined long ago, it is truly predestined, and revealed in Revelation.
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. (Luke 18:7, Isaiah 50:8)
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. (Romans 8:1, Romans 5:6, Acts 2:24, Mark 16:19, Romans 8:27, Hebrews 7:25)
OUR OLDER BROTHER IN THE FAMILY WILL PROTECT US
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? (Romans 8:37, Romans 2:9, 2 Corinthians 4:8, 1 Corinthians 4:11, 2 Corinthians 11:26)

Paul is speaking from experience as he lists those things which oppose Christians. Hr had finished his race of life, he had fought the good fight, he welcomed his going on the receive his reward.

THIS WEEK'S SCRIPTURE

Raid
I had a dream the other night. I was in the old West riding in a stagecoach. Suddenly, a man riding a horse pulls up to the left side of the stagecoach, and a riderless horse pulls up on the right.
The man leans down, pulls open the door, and jumps off his horse into the stagecoach. Then he opens the other door and jumps onto the other horse.
Just before he rode off, I yelled out, "What was all that about?"

He replied, "Nothing. It's just a stage I'm going through."
I've Been Told, I'm Old...
Three older ladies were discussing the travails of getting older.
One said, "Sometimes I catch myself with a jar of mayonnaise in my hand, in front of the refrigerator, and I can't remember whether I was taking it out or putting it away."
The second lady said, "Yes, sometimes I find myself on the landing of the stairs, and I can't remember whether I was on my up, or on my way down."
The third lady chimed in, "Well, I'm glad I don't have those problems. Knock on wood." With that, she rapped her knuckles on the table, then said,

Raid
I had a dream the other night. I was in the old West riding in a stagecoach. Suddenly, a man riding a horse pulls up to the left side of the stagecoach, and a riderless horse pulls up on the right.
The man leans down, pulls open the door, and jumps off his horse into the stagecoach. Then he opens the other door and jumps onto the other horse.
Just before he rode off, I yelled out, "What was all that about?"

He replied, "Nothing. It's just a stage I'm going through."
I've Been Told, I'm Old...
Three older ladies were discussing the travails of getting older.
One said, "Sometimes I catch myself with a jar of mayonnaise in my hand, in front of the refrigerator, and I can't remember whether I was taking it out or putting it away."
The second lady said, "Yes, sometimes I find myself on the landing of the stairs, and I can't remember whether I was on my up, or on my way down."
The third lady chimed in, "Well, I'm glad I don't have those problems. Knock on wood." With that, she rapped her knuckles on the table, then said,
"That must be the door. I'll get it."

SINCE GOD IS FOR US:
This portion could be better translated “Since God is for us.” John 3:16-17 tells is in clear words what the sacrifices and the prophets of the Old Testament era told us, that God loves his creation so very much that he was willing to send his only begotten Son to die that we might be restored to him and be able to spent eternity with him in his home, Heaven. He sent his Son Jesus to live in our sinful world, so that we could be prepared to live in his sin-free world, heaven.
I am reminded of the fact that after my father left home permanently when I was a young boy and as a result, I grew up for practical purposes as the only son at home of a single parent during the great depression years. I had one real friend. He was the son of the local Undertaker who was also owner the only furniture store in the community. We spent many hours in my friend‘s home, invited for the night, invited to go with him to the motorcycle races, since his father had the only hearse/ambulance available. I was invited to see the fireworks of a nearby city, and often for the day and once at least, the night, at their cottage on a small lake they owned. I was even invited to go with them for a two week vacation trip. In many ways they treated me like part of the family. God goes a step further. He invites is to be adopted children. What a privilege we are offered, eternity in the home of the creator of all things, made for his own pleasure and that of his family; nothing but the best!
Since God is for us,… who can be against us?
WHO CAN BE AGAINST US?
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 3:5, Romans 4:1, Psalm 118:6, Matthew 1:23)
He paid such a costly price for us, certainly he will provide for our every real need.
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? (John 3:16, Romans 5:8, Romans 4L25)
Note the links, God created, God’s elect, God justifies, Christ defends and intercedes, Satan hasn’t a chance! His destiny was determined long ago, it is truly predestined, and revealed in Revelation.
